2023-2024
11 JULY 2024
On the side of the EthCC7 event in Brussels, come join us on Thursday 11th July for a relevant discussion among EU policymakers and industry representatives to find out what to expect from the next EU policy cycle for the Web3 space!
In fall of 2023, the four main associations representing the blockchain industry in Europe came together to define a common vision for the future of blockchain in the EU.
They created a "Manifesto for Blockchain" to outline this vision and presented it in November 2023 with the endorsement of the European Commission.
The Manifesto revolves around three main pillars:
1) Competitiveness & Single Market
2) Social Impact & Sustainability
3) Digital Transformation
Since then, different events, debates and research initiatives have been launched to discuss further these three pillars and showcase how blockchain technology can be the answer to a lot of relevant questions for the future of Europe.

Manifesto for Blockchain - Launch of Phase II
The first phase of this initiative involved the careful planning and leadership of the four leading associations, which collected the input and views of its industry members to outline the basis for this shared vision for the blockchain sector.
The second phase now requires a more open and collective approach though, one that mirrors the inclusiveness of the industry itself. In doing so, we invite all industry stakeholders, particularly the national blockchain associations across all EU Member States, to join us in shaping this common vision for the blockchain industry in Europe.
This will be the first formal informative session on 20.03.2024 at 10:00 CET to gather all interested stakeholders and present them with more information on the activities we intend to organize. We invite you to join us to understand how to participate and contribute to this initiative!

Brussels, 9 November 2023
On 9th November 2023, the Directorate-General Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW) of the European Commission organised a hybrid conference on the digital transformation of industry, to contribute to the policy cycle of the next Commission from 2024-2029.
The discussions on the opportunities for blockchain in the industry have been structured around 3 key topics to identify, discuss and prepare future initiatives and projects:
1. Blockchain as a game changer for the digital and green transitions of industrial ecosystems
2. Entrepreneurial cooperation in decentralised digital spaces
3. Blockchain-based solutions to ensure safe, ethical and green supply chains.
With our participation, we aimed to inform the new Commission, the future Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the new Parliament, on how to foster a proactive and people-centric EU framework.
As part of this open dialogue, we had the honour of announcing the Manifesto for Blockchain and nudging the EU toward a more unified digital economy with universally accessible services, employing cryptographic technologies that respect privacy and anti-money laundering norms.
